Description

15 mins from town (5 miles) – on a Wears Valley mountainside in a more isolated area off Long Branch Rd in the Wear’s Valley side of town.

Our economical cabin is perched on the breast of one of our steep hills.
Not in a resort, rather, “Oconaluftee” is in a group of three cabins, well separated up the hill, up a strongly sloped 1100 foot private drive. This is doable by a two wheel vehicle.

Partially covered porch with a “woods” view over the hillside, not a distance one.

We have completely renovated our cabin in 2018. Everything is new. The interiors are all tongue and groove wood with a log exterior.

The Real Skinny

  1. Our cabin is highly affordable for folks wanting to stay near Pigeon Forge but still won’t break the bank.
  2. The cabin is isolated in the woods, but for a cabin (also ours) across the drive and another up higher on the drive.
  3. It really is just 15 minutes to town, unless, of course, it’s a weekend night in which case, as always, there will be heavier traffic, but only when you get to the Parkway crossroads.
  4.  A 24/7 pool is available to our guests at Arbors at Island Landing Hotel in Pigeon Forge – your Downtown Club.
  5. We really do have incredible cancellation and insurance arrangements for our guests. We treat our guests as we would our FAMILY. Have a look at the Deposit/Cancellation tab below.

Cancel up to 7 days before arrival and we will happily refund your entire deposit - yes, the whole deposit and no hidden charges. Is that fair enough? Cancel 7-2 days, we happily refund all except one night's stay plus tax. Fair enough? This way, we all trust and care for each other.

Our guests get a downtown club space - in the heart of Pigeon Forge.
We are able to do this by using our hotel - Arbors at Island Landing Hotel & Suites, just a five minute walk to the Island.

We welcome you to park, use the pool (you will need to change in the men’s and women’s rest room), hot tub, kids pool, waterfall, to play games in the meadow - corn hole, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, football, kite flying.

  1. - Pool, hot tub, kids' pool all day and all night
  2. - Sit by the river-front
    - Fish – we have rods to borrow
    - Grab a snack – we have Krispy Kremes, lemonade, and coffee/teas – all day and night
    - Need to stay an extra day or two – you will get our FAMILY discount at the hotel.

Mercedes and Carlos Franco

This is our vacation cabin in the woods – actually a small group of three of them. We are over the moon that we were able to find a place for us and our family to vacation in Pigeon Forge. In a few years we hope to retire here.

Our cabins are economical – that’s what we wanted for ourselves and our guests – an economical vacation home.

Talk about commitment!
How were we fortunate enough to find the cabins?

  • The Calhouns have been looking for homes for us and found the cabins as a small group.
  • Then, Mike Dias, the husband of Samantha – the lady who runs the cabin reservations and cleaning for Arbors. took over the renovations and installed tongue and groove wood paneling throughout, a new bathroom, kitchen, flooring, and hot tub. Mike works on the Arbors cabins to keep them ready for our guests, while his wife welcomes our guests.
  • We have done the decorations and the AC. That was an easy one for us as I am in HVAC guy and have my own installation business down in Florida.

Our home is near Tampa. We have two children – getting older now and moving onto college.
